High-voltage transformers

erstma: respect such a testing jobs hobby would be matter of principle too dangerous. you got professionally with high voltage do? (I am a trainee as an electronics and got a 9V block battery on the tongue before shit)

I have a question about the videos that you published did

Why avoiding the arc upward?? I could imagine no more than that the device between the two electrodes is blowing inert gases upwards and there the electrical resistance is greater
like enlighten ma me?

the ARC produces an immense heat. If he lights down at a little distance, the hot air pushes it up. Since the hot air (whose gases) at high temperatures good leads, he is even further apart. The higher the voltage is, the more he is still apart.
Basically, the arc like a gas hose is described in his inner ionized gas, eg. contains ozone, oxides of nitrogen. The vortices appears arbitrary, but produced by different conditions of air to eg., better channeling, humidity levels, temperature Vortex, etc. Above all, it is very interesting that arcs and also streamers of Tesla coils turn as corkscrew.

I have professionally to do nothing with high voltage, run this hobby but as a vocation, and about 25 years.
